01Where the release started
Deskrawl: Idle ARPG launched September 28, 2026 (Steam App 4623570). A launch-day hotfix addressed Online Mode connection failures with very old Steam clients, and patch 1.0.0g (September 29) adjusted equipment-slot drop distribution and fixed Warrior Whirlwind material collection plus several Monk effects. Those earlier fixes are the baseline the October patches below build on.
021.0.0h — Hunter and Monk buffs (October 1)
A large numbers pass for ranged and melee both. Hunter abilities were buffed across the board (for example Steady Shot base damage 170% → 250% weapon damage, Multishot 140% → 200%, Arcane Arrowstorm 90% → 160%), Flare now also inflicts Dizzy, and Hunter and Monk talents gained higher values or extra ranks. Sorcerer’s Ice Nova was raised from 10% to 30% weapon damage.
Rule changes: talents that trigger every N casts now count only your own casts, and Online Mode now requires an owned copy of the game — Family Sharing, Free Weekend and PC café licenses are limited to Singleplayer. The Frost Dragon gained a 5% Golden Treasure Chest drop, and a paragon experience bug was fixed.
031.0.0i — Monk abilities and readability (October 3)
Increased several Monk ability damages, adjusted Hunter Flare, and changed the Violet Skybow affix from Damage vs Injured to Damage vs Distant. Legendary Reins now ignore pickup filters. Abilities you cannot afford gained a red tint and a red mana cost, so read the cost before assuming an ability is broken.
041.0.1 — Legendary (Grand) runes (October 6)
Introduced 32 new Legendary runes: a “(Grand)” version of every Rare skill rune, eight per class, with stronger stats and ability level bonuses than the Rare versions. The same update added new tradeable commodities and a system the announcement calls Equipment Enlightenment. Our capture only records the feature name, so this page does not yet describe how Enlightenment works — check the official note linked below.
051.0.2 — Rune Transmute and Mythic Rift updates (October 9)
The biggest update so far. Rune Transmute opened at the Alchemists: combine nine runes of one rarity into one random rune your class can use (full odds are on the gameplay runes section). 48 new runes arrived — Rare and Legendary (Grand) pairs for 24 abilities that had none.
The Mythic Rift became cheaper and more rewarding: entry costs 3 Skull of Inferno, loot increased at all tiers, the tier experience bonus doubled to +3% per tier, and Soul Shard rewards now scale with tier. Offline singleplayer characters received a buff doubling the drop chance of super-rare items (Divine, Black Mist equipment, Legendary and Rune Set runes, valuable commodities).
Class changes: Hunter’s Frost Trap was replaced by Arcane Trap (Arcane damage, applies Arcane Grip immobilize), Poison was strengthened and the Lone Hunter talent reworked; Sorcerer received wide buffs (Ice Shards, Combustion, Shattering Ice and more); Monk’s Golden Palms became a travelling projectile and Iron Constitution was buffed to 60% damage reduction over 6 seconds. Leaderboard-tracked maps no longer allow changing abilities or talents mid-fight.
06Hot fix 1.0.2a — Rune Transmute opens (October 10)
Transmute had launched disabled pending a fix; this hot fix switched it on. Boss Key gained an option to hide the taskbar icon, Hunter’s Arcane Trap now applies Dizzy, and crowd-control diminishing returns now shorten only stun and root durations while preserving the status itself.
071.0.2b — caps and fixes (mid-October)
This was the newest announcement at our October 13 review; its feed entry showed no full date in our capture, so treat “mid-October” as approximate and check the official feed for the exact posting date.
Build caps: total damage reduction is now capped at 90%, cooldown reduction at 80% (down from 85%), and critical damage reduction consistently uses a 100% stat cap. Monks can now equip Legendary and Divine swords. Hunter quality-of-life: Multishot fires faster, Shockwave reaches farther, and placing a new trap no longer removes existing traps.
Economy: Divine drop chance from Mythic Treasure Chests greatly increased; treasure-map mythic chests became golden chests; Werewolf Pelts added (no use yet); +9/+10 shoulder upgrades and potion recipes now need boss materials; Lucky Wheel spins can skip their animation and cost 12,500 gold (from 10,000). Also reduced RAM usage and fixed Warrior/Hunter model previews, the Atherton four-piece bonus and Crimson Guardian’s lingering potion bonus.
08Using patch notes when you follow guides
Every balance-relevant number on this site carries its patch. When a guide disagrees with your game, check the version first: pre-1.0.2 tier lists and Hunter or Monk builds predate the largest changes. The build comparison guide explains what a defensible recommendation needs, and the gameplay overview connects the systems.
Common questions
Which patch is current?
At our October 13, 2026 review the newest announcement we could confirm was 1.0.2b. The official feed on Steam is authoritative if a newer patch has shipped since.
Why does an older guide disagree with my game?
Weekly patches have changed abilities, traps, runes and caps since release. A guide that does not state its patch version may describe behavior that no longer exists — check its date against this list.
